David Williams on Bergerac Le Jonc Blanc
In his article 20 Best Reds over £10 (TheObserver Food Monthly 8th December 2013) David Williams selects:
Château Le Jonc Blanc Les Sens de Fruit,Bergerac, France 2010 (£11.30, Vinetrail)
With the best of Bordeaux now out of reach ofall but the highest net worth individuals, neighbouring Bergerac is worth alook for a more affordable take on the region's trademark cabernet-merlotblends. Few are as good or immediately appealing as this, though: strikinglypure blackcurrant fruit, subtle graphite and delectable melt-in-the-mouthtannins.
