Franck Peillot Rousette de Bugey
David Williamsrecommends Franck Peillot Roussette de Bugey-Montagnieu 2013 (£14.86) in hisarticle 20 Great French Wines in The Observer’s Food Special 16thNovember 2014
“It may be a tad literal-minded to think of mountain streamswhen you have a cool alpine white from Savoie or nearby Bugey in yourhand. But if the wine is as pure and asfluent as Franck Peillot’s dry white made from the altesse grape variety, the comparisonis irresistible. Scents of alpineflowers and white fruits only add to an idyll, best completed by a salad ofwild greens and a river fish.”
